Policies
Publication Fee and Waiver Policy
The Brooklyn Research and Publishing Institute (BRPI) operates under a Gold Open Access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to the public without subscription barriers.
Publication Fee
Authors from high- and middle-income countries are required to pay a publication fee of USD 400 per accepted manuscript. A reduced fee of USD 300 applies to authors from low-income countries, as well as to PhD scholars and unemployed researchers or academics.
Waiver Conditions
The USD 100 fee reduction for PhD scholars and unemployed researchers is only applicable if the manuscript has no more than two authors (including the eligible author). If a paper has more than two authors, the standard publication fee of USD 400 applies regardless of the authors' academic or economic status.
Low-income countries are defined as those with a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita below USD 3,000.
Additional Information
1. The publication fee is only charged after the paper has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication.
2. Print copies of the journal may be purchased separately for USD 50 per copy.
3. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, allowing for unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.
4. Authors retain full copyright of their work.
5. BRPI adheres to industry standards in open access publishing and maintains a no full-waiver policy—all applicable fees are uniformly applied according to the criteria outlined above.
CrossMark Policy
DOI: https://doi.org/10.15640/crossmark-policy
At The Brooklyn Research and Publishing Institute (BRPI), we are committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. To support this, we implement the CrossMark initiative from Crossref, which provides a standardized way for readers to identify the current status of a document and access any updates, corrections, or retractions.
The CrossMark icon is placed on the HTML and PDF versions of our published articles. By clicking the CrossMark icon, readers can verify that they are viewing the most recent and authoritative version of the article.
What Does CrossMark Indicate?
When you see the CrossMark logo on an article published by BRPI, it means that the publisher is committed to:
- Keeping the content up to date
- Providing transparency regarding updates, corrections, or retractions
- Maintaining a clear version-of-record for all published content
Types of Updates We Provide via CrossMark
Corrections: For minor errors that do not affect the overall findings of the paper.
Retractions: For major issues such as ethical breaches, data fabrication, or significant errors that invalidate the findings.
Addenda: For additional information related to the original article.
Editorial Notes: For publisher or editorial team notices related to the article.
Article Version Updates: For any version changes, such as post-publication revisions or updates to supplementary material.
Metadata and Maintenance
As part of our CrossMark implementation, we regularly submit article metadata, including update history, to Crossref. This ensures that anyone accessing our content through the CrossMark system will receive the latest information about an article’s status and any updates it has undergone.
Look for the CrossMark logo on both the PDF version of the article and its homepage on our website to verify the publication’s current status and access any updates.
Copyright and Plagiarism Policy
Copyright Policy
Copyrights for articles published in the journal are retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. The journal/publisher is not responsible for subsequent uses of the work. It is the author's responsibility to bring an infringement action if so desired by the author.
Plagiarism Policy
The editorial board is very strict regarding plagiarism. The journal believes that taking the ideas and work of others without giving them credit is unfair and dishonest. Copying even one sentence from someone else's manuscript, or even one of your own that has previously been published, without proper citation is considered plagiarism-use your own words instead. The editorial board retains the absolute authority to reject the review process of a submitted manuscript if it subject to minor or major plagiarism and even may cancel the publication upon the complaint of victim(s) of plagiarism.
